The National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) was launched by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) on 4th January, 2023 with an outlay of Rs. 19,744 Crore with an aim to make India a Global Hub for production, usage and export of Green Hydrogen (GH2) and its derivatives.
MNRE has issued “Scheme Guidelines for implementation of Pilot projects for production and use of Green Hydrogen using innovative methods/pathways in the Residential, Commercial, Localized Community, Decentralized/Non-Conventional, applications, that includes any new sector or technology not covered in previous Mission schemes” vide OM No. 353/81/2024-NT dated 4th August, 2024.
MNRE has identified BIRAC as an Implementing Agency of the scheme (for Part A) for Implementation of biomass-based and other innovative technology-based pilot projects under NGHM.
As part of the above scheme, BIRAC hereby invites proposals from the prospective Applicants to become the Executing Agency(ies) (EAs) for “Implementation of pilot projects for production of Green Hydrogen from biomass-based & other innovative technology-based interventions” under National Green Hydrogen Mission. The selection of the Executing Agency (EA) shall be conducted transparently, following the criteria laid down in the Guidelines and this document. In case of any discrepancies, provisions mentioned in the scheme Guidelines shall prevail

Note: Sanctioned projects under any other scheme under the National Green Hydrogen Mission or any other scheme of Government of India are not eligible to participate under this scheme.
