BIRAC Idea-thon on AMR

BIRAC invites teams to participate in an Idea-thon on Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR) Diagnostics

AMR Diagnostics Idea-thon: AMR is a challenge in the developing world especially India as new ‘superbugs’ are emerging that are resistance to antibiotics.

BIRAC is organising an Idea-thon with focus on generating innovative ideas in generating new technologies in AMR diagnostics that can potentially be translated to identify pathogenic microbes and improve detection.   

 

The Idea-thon would be spread over two days:

1st Day: Expert overviews and problem identification, datamining and new/novel ‘translatable’ idea generation, business plan creation for the idea. BIRAC will provide access to internet and databases/e-journals.

2nd Day: Presentation to Expert Panel & Awards

 

Awards & Perks

 

                 

Prize Money: Winners: INR 1 lakh, Two Runners Up: INR 50,000 each will be announced at BIRAC’s 4th Foundation Day. Award/participation Certificates to all teams.

Mentoring: One month mentoring of winners by BIRAC’s Partners (C-CAMP Bangalore, IKP Knowledge Park, Hyderabad & Bangalore; FITT at IIT Delhi, NCL Venture Center, Pune, KIIT-TBI Bhubaneswar and Villgro Foundation

Conference: Complementary participation in BIRAC’s Foundation Day 20th & 21st March (networking opportunities with experts of the Indian biotech sector)

 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Open to ‘teams’ (2-5 members) of students (graduates, postgrads, post-docs   and research scholars/JRF/SRF) and Faculty
  • Team members having previous support from BIRAC (in any of the BIRAC schemes) are not eligible.

 

Partners:

                       

*Participants have to make their own arrangements for logistics and accommodation. Shortlisted Applicants shall bring in their own laptops for the event.
